Fora’s guide to the West End

Embrace the buzzing energy of Covent Garden, Soho and Marylebone by blending your working day with inspiring gallery visits, enticing dining destinations and unforgettable entertainment.

Shape your day in the West End

Whoever said you can’t have it all must not have spent much time in the West End. The 9-5 life here is anything but ordinary – with endless entertainment options, unique eateries and vibrant nightlife sprawling from buzzing Covent Garden to elegant Marylebone. And with stations including Bond Street and Oxford Circus a stone’s throw from our amenity-filled workspaces, you’re well connected to the rest of the capital.

9am: Where to start

The West End pulses with a tangible energy from early till late, so if you’re in need of a wake-up call there are plenty of places to get a coffee. Moments from Piccadilly Circus, Nessa is an all-day diner where you can pick up something caffeinated and enjoy a playful twist on classic breakfast dishes. Its elegant interior makes it ideal for client breakfasts, too. But if you need to dash, grab a drink from pocket-sized café Flat White on Soho’s Berwick Street or a sticky, hand-rolled cinnamon bun and a coffee from Buns from Home, located moments from our Broadwick Street workspace.

If your day starts best with a boost of endorphins, head to Henry Wood House. Our recently revamped workspace features a sunlit fitness and yoga studio, so you can attend a morning class before your morning meetings.

12pm: Out to lunch

Discover designer labels and smart homeware shops in Covent Garden’s Seven Dials area before dropping into the food market on Earlham Street. Whether you grab a seat at one of the communal tables or select something to takeaway, you’re spoilt for choice with the world’s first cheese conveyor belt from Pick & Cheese or Thai curries and noodle dishes from Yaay Yaay.

Further west, a similarly eclectic mix of dining destinations and up-to-the-minute fashion brands can be found lining Carnaby Street and Kingly Court, while the high-end department store Liberty attracts shoppers from around the world. Enter this Tudor-revival building and browse its attractive retail spaces and then pop into our Liberty House workspace, which is complete with a dedicated meeting room wing for ideally located catch ups.

For a fresh perspective, take a contemplative stroll through the National Gallery’s permanent collection, looking out for pieces by the likes of Monet and Turner, and continue your art odyssey at the nearby Royal Academy of Arts. Its tapas restaurant, José Pizarro at the RA, is also a perfect spot for an elegant lunch.

3pm: Afternoon agenda

Our West End workspaces make hosting memorable events easy. Parcels Building is home to a large theatre space with adjoining roof terrace that’s perfect for large team meetings or presentations. At 91 Wimpole Street, the beautiful gardens offer up secluded seating areas and sprawling sociable spaces, providing a leafy backdrop to outdoor events.

Alternatively, offer guests a slice of Covent Garden grandeur at The Lane – a salon serving afternoon tea in the sumptuous surrounds of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

In a neighbourhood that revolves around restaurants, all-day dining options are abound. Tuck into steamed buns and sashimi at izakaya-style Flesh & Buns in Covent Garden, leave your desk behind for a decadent afternoon at Burger & Lobster in Leicester Square or venture into Soho’s self-proclaimed Chinese gastropub Duck and Rice, which serves delicious dim sum and Cantonese classics in eye-catching surroundings.

Craving a slice of nature during the day? If you’re working from our Green Park House workspace, you’re just a minute away from the iconic green space of the same name, and slightly further away there’s all of Hyde Park to explore.

6pm: End of day

You’ve spent the day doing your best work so close to the neighbourhood’s theatres and performance spaces you can almost hear the applause. Now, it’s time to take your seat with a jam-packed schedule of plays, ballets and stand-up comedy – from the world-renowned Royal Opera House in Covent Garden to Dean Street’s Soho Theatre, where you might end up drinking alongside the acts in its busy bar.

If it’s live music you’re after, there’s jazz in the basement bar at Ronnie Scott’s, while Prince Charles Cinema just off Leicester Square screens new films alongside cult classics.

For a slower pace, simply relax on the striking terrace at our Orion House workspace or head out for food and drink. Bubala on Poland Street is a vegetarian Middle Eastern-inspired eatery, where a tasting menu features the restaurant’s most popular dishes, while nearby Andrew Edmunds is a Soho institution serving modern British dishes in an 18th-century townhouse.
