4. Prioritising wellbeing at work

Employee wellbeing remains a cornerstone of workplace success. One of our recent studies showed that 80% of hybrid office workers have experienced workplace anxiety since the onset of the pandemic, with poor mental health estimated to cost UK employers £51 billion a year. Fiona explains that “Supporting employee wellbeing isn’t just a moral imperative, it’s a business advantage. By prioritising mental health, tailored work environments, and sustainable productivity practices, companies can unlock greater engagement and long-term success.”

According to our research, hybrid workers believe there are lots of things that could be adapted to make them feel more comfortable within offices which would make them less anxiety-inducing. Top of the list is access to ‘wellness spaces’ within offices (40%). Meanwhile, 38% highlight having modern facilities helps them feel supported and 35% believe that mental health programmes in the workplace could help address the issues.
