Kathryn Garden, Operations Director at The School of Life, tells us how our Chancery House workspace has empowered the School of Life team to perfectly balance work with wellness.

“If everyone was in therapy, I think we’d all be a bit kinder to one another, we’d be a bit easier on ourselves. We’d be in a much better place.” explains Kathryn Garden, Operations Director at The School of Life and Fora member at Chancery House.

The School of Life was founded in 2008 by author and public speaker Alain de Botton, starting out as a small events business running classes and workshops in Bloomsbury focusing on emotional education. The company now publish a range of materials including books, products, films, an app and a dedicated psychotherapy service, which help provide the tools to deal with topics including anxiety management, emotional intelligence, work, creativity and spirituality.

Looking back at the moment The School of Life hit one million subscribers to their YouTube channel, (now boasting nearly 9 million subscribers), Kathryn says, “I remember thinking, wow, we’ve managed to reach a million people that consistently want to check in with what we’re doing.” With new films published every week, The School of Life encourages everyone to take time to reflect on their personal journey, and use the tools they offer to find balance, self-understanding, healing and growth.
